💡 Tip: Use "quiero" (I want) to make requests politely. This is one of the most common verbs in restaurants.

¿Puedo ver el menú?

Can I see the menu?

Verb: poderTense: presentPerson: yo

💡 Tip: "Puedo" means "I can" - use it for polite requests. Notice it's irregular: poder → puedo.

Me gusta el pescado

I like the fish

Verb: gustarTense: presentPerson: él

💡 Tip: Gustar works backwards from English! The thing you like is the subject. "Me gusta" = "it pleases me" = "I like it".

Voy a pedir la paella

I'm going to order the paella

Verb: pedirTense: presentPerson: yo

💡 Tip: "Voy a" + infinitive is very common for future plans. "Pedir" means "to order" or "to ask for".
