SENTIR es un verbo con doble cambio vocálico: e→ie en el presente y e→i en algunas formas del pasado y en el gerundio.
Presente de indicativo: siento, sientes, siente, sentimos, sentís, sienten.
Pretérito: sentí, sentiste, sintió, sentimos, sentisteis, sintieron (cambio e→i solo en él/ellos).
Gerundio: sintiendo; los tiempos compuestos usan haber + sentido (he sentido, había sentido…).
Explicación técnica
Patrón de los verbos en -ir con e→ie / e→i (modelo sentir):
- Presente de indicativo: e→ie en las formas tónicas (yo, tú, él/ella, ellos/ellas): siento, sientes, siente, sienten; nosotros y vosotros se mantienen regulares: sentimos, sentís.
- Presente de subjuntivo: sienta, sientas, sienta, sintamos, sintáis, sientan (con sintamos / sintáis en nosotros/vosotros).
- Pretérito: cambio e→i solo en 3.ª persona del singular y del plural: sintió, sintieron; las demás personas siguen sent-: sentí, sentiste, sentimos, sentisteis.
- Imperativo afirmativo: tú siente, usted sienta, nosotros sintamos, vosotros sentid, ustedes sientan.
- Imperativo negativo (celdas sin «no»): sientas, sienta, sintamos, sintáis, sientan.
- Tiempos compuestos y de subjuntivo: se forman con el participio regular sentido (he sentido, hubiera sentido, hubiere sentido…).
Los demás tiempos (imperfecto, futuros, condicionales) siguen el patrón regular de los verbos en -ir:
- Imperfecto: sentía, sentías, sentía, sentíamos, sentíais, sentían.
- Futuros y condicionales: sentiré, sentiría, etc.

- Ayer sintió miedo. / Yesterday he/she felt afraid.
- Espero que sientas lo mismo. / I hope you feel the same.
- No sientas eso; la tabla muestra «sientas» sin el «no». / Don’t feel that; the table cell shows “sientas” without “no”.
