Explicación simple
Haber es el verbo auxiliar que se usa para formar los tiempos compuestos (haber + participio).
También aparece en forma impersonal: hay = "there is / there are".
Puntos clave:
- Tiempos compuestos: he hablado, había comido, habré vivido…
- Impersonal: hay un libro / hay dos libros
- Estructura muy frecuente: hay que + infinitivo (Hay que estudiar.)
- Imperativo: no se usa en español moderno.
Explicación técnica
Haber tiene dos valores principales:
1) Auxiliar (haber + participio) en tiempos compuestos.
2) Impersonal de existencia: hay / había / hubo / habrá / habría.
Nota del libro (morfología):
- En pretérito perfecto simple y tiempos derivados, la vocal del radical a pasa a u: hub- (hube, hubo, hubieron…).
- En futuro y condicional, se pierde la vocal temática e y aparece la base habr- (habré, habría…).
- Se introduce "y" en la forma impersonal del presente (hay) y en el subjuntivo presente (haya, hayas…).
- El imperativo no se utiliza.
Subjuntivo imperfecto (doble serie equivalente):
- hubiera… / hubiese…
- pluscuamperfecto: hubiera/hubiese + participio
Diferencia clave:
- 3.ª persona singular del presente personal: ha (él/ella ha)
- impersonal: hay
