Technical explanation

-uir pattern with y-insertion (influir model):

- Present indicative: y appears in stressed forms (yo, tú, él/ella, ellos/ellas): influyo, influyes, influye, influyen; nosotros and vosotros stay regular: influimos, influís.
- Present subjunctive: same y in yo/tú/él/ellos: influya, influyas, influya, influyan; influyamos, influyáis with the same stress pattern.
- Affirmative imperative: tú influye, usted influya, nosotros influyamos, vosotros influid, ustedes influyan.
- Negative imperative (table values without “no”): influyas, influya, influyamos, influyáis, influyan.
- Preterite: 3rd person singular and plural with y: influyó, influyeron; the other persons follow the regular pattern: influí, influiste, influimos, influisteis.

Other tenses (imperfect, futures, conditionals and compound tenses) follow the regular -ir model:
- Imperfect: influía, influías, influía, influíamos, influíais, influían.
- Futures and conditionals: influiré, influiría, etc.
- Compound tenses: he influido, había influido, habré influido, habría influido.
